Minimum 1+ years Paraprofessional or Special Education experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This specialized position supports students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) across Carbon and Lehigh Counties in Pennsylvania, offering a valuable opportunity to impact K-12 learners in diverse educational settings. The role focuses on behavior intervention and hands-on assistance within both specialized and inclusive classrooms, working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and special education professionals. Key Responsibilities: Deliver one-on-one or small group support tailored to students with autism. Implement and monitor behavior intervention plans (BIPs) alongside classroom teachers and behavior specialists. Collect and report data on student behaviors, IEP progress, and instructional strategies. Assist students during routines, transitions, and sensory breaks to promote engagement. Apply evidence-based strategies such as ABA, PECS, visual schedules, and social stories. Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment. Collaborate regularly with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity and effective communication. Provide personal care support when necessary, including toileting, hygiene, and feeding. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Education, Psychology, ABA, Social Behavior, or related field preferred. Associates degree considered with at least 1 year, preferably 3 years, experience supporting students with autism or behavioral needs. Solid understanding of ASD and behavioral intervention techniques. Ability to calmly and effectively manage behavioral incidents, including elopement or aggression. Proficiency with basic computer skills for documentation and communication. Dependability, teamwork, and professionalism in challenging environments. Must include one completed supervisor reference check for previous relevant roles. Position Details: Location: Various sites across Carbon and Lehigh Counties, PA.
