Minimum 1+ years Paraprofessional or Special Education experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Located in Carbon County, PA, this position offers an opportunity to work within an Enhanced Emotional Support setting at a specialized learning school focused on K-12 students. This role aims to provide direct, individualized support to help students navigate their emotional and behavioral challenges while fostering practical and productive responses to their environment. This contract assignment follows the school calendar and runs through June 12, 2026. Key Responsibilities: Deliver 1:1 or small group emotional and behavioral support to students Implement and reinforce behavior intervention plans (BIPs) developed by specialists or special education teams Assist students with emotion management, behavior regulation, social interaction, and conflict resolution Collect behavioral data and intervention outcomes as directed Support students during transitions, sensory breaks, and crisis de-escalation Maintain a structured and supportive environment, adhering to crisis intervention protocols Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and related service staff to promote student success Aid students with academic participation and personal care needs when necessary Qualifications and Experience: Bachelors degree preferred in Juvenile Justice, Social Behavior, or related field; Associates degree considered with 1+ years (preferably 3) of relevant experience Proven background in emotional support, therapeutic, or behavior-focused classroom environments Strong knowledge of emotional and behavioral disorders including anxiety, oppositional behavior, and trauma-related issues Skilled in de-escalation techniques, positive behavior reinforcement, and relationship-building strategies Ability to remain composed in high-stress scenarios and maintain professional boundaries Basic computer skills for data entry and communication Must provide one completed emotional support role supervisor reference check prior to consideration Work Schedule and Location: Approximately 32.5 to 35 hours per week Contract position School-year duration aligned with Carbon County educational calendar This role is an excellent fit for professionals committed to supporting youth through emotional and behavioral challenges in an educational setting.
