Located in Pennsylvanias Carbon and Lehigh Counties, this contract position offers a meaningful opportunity to support K-12 students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in both specialized and inclusive educational settings. The role begins ASAP and extends tentatively through June 12, 2026, aligned with the school calendar. Position Overview:The Autism Support Interventionist works closely with teachers, therapists, and special education professionals to implement behavior-focused interventions and foster academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development in students with ASD. This hands-on role involves one-on-one or small group support, requiring strong collaboration and patience. Key Responsibilities: Provide individualized or small-group support to students with autism. Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) under teacher or behavior specialist supervision. Collect and document data on behaviors, IEP progress, and instructional strategies. Assist students during daily routines, transitions, and sensory breaks. Use evidence-based techniques including ABA, PECS, visual schedules, and social stories. Maintain a safe, supportive, and structured classroom environment. Collaborate with educational and therapeutic teams to ensure consistency. Support personal care needs such as toileting, hygiene, and feeding when necessary. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Education, Psychology, ABA, Social Behavior, or related field preferred; Associates degree considered with at least 1 year (preferably 3+) experience supporting students with autism or behavioral needs. Strong knowledge of ASD and behavioral intervention methods. Ability to remain calm and respond effectively during behavioral incidents. Basic computer skills for documentation and communication. Reliable, team-oriented, and able to maintain professional boundaries. Work Schedule and Location: Monday through Friday, approximately 32.535 hours per week.
