A K-12 educational institution in Garland, TX is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher with expertise in resource and inclusion programs for an academic contract position. This role is ideal for a passionate educator committed to fostering inclusive and supportive learning environments for students with diverse needs. Key Responsibilities: Deliver resource inclusion instruction at the elementary level, adapting lessons to meet the needs of students with disabilities in mainstream classroom settings. Provide homebound instruction and support inclusion classes at the middle school level, ensuring continuity of learning for students unable to attend school. Teach LIFE (Learning Independence for Elementary) programs designed to enhance functional skills development for elementary students with moderate to severe disabilities. Manage PASS (Positive Alternative Support Strategies) behavior programs at the elementary level, implementing behavioral interventions and supports to promote positive student outcomes. Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional strategies to achieve educational goals. Desired Qualifications: Valid Special Education Teaching Certification for K-12. Experience with resource and inclusion programs across elementary and middle school grades. Skilled in delivering specialized instruction for LIFE and behavior management programs such as PASS. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Strong communication and organizational skills. Location:Garland, TX serving K-12 students.
