Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to support elementary students with diverse learning needs. This contract position will begin on October 14, 2025, and run through June 11, 2026, serving a caseload that includes an opening for an Autism specialist. Location: Wilmington, DE School Setting: Elementary School Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:25 AM to 3:55 PM with a 30-minute paid lunch (37.5 hours per week) Key Responsibilities: Deliver specialized instruction tailored to individual educational plans (IEPs) for elementary students Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to promote student growth and inclusion Monitor student progress and update documentation according to state and district standards Manage classroom behavior and foster a safe, positive learning environment Qualifications: Valid Delaware Special Education Teaching License required Experience working with students with Autism preferred for certain positions Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team Additional Information: Candidates must provide PDF copies of their Delaware Special Education Teaching License and resume for consideration Candidates should be aware of and agree to the $85 cost associated with criminal background check fingerprinting prior to submission This is a full-time contract role within an elementary school setting, providing an excellent opportunity to impact young learners with special education needs.
