Resource Room / Special Education Teacher Flint, MI | 2 Onsite Openings Contract Position for the 2025-2026 School Year (Approx. 01/26/2026 06/12/2026) This role supports K-12 students in an urban school district in Flint, MI, primarily serving self-contained classrooms with a caseload of up to 22 students. The position requires a full-time commitment of 35 hours per week and focuses on providing tailored special education services in both resource room and self-contained settings. Candidates must be comfortable working within an urban educational environment and collaborating with diverse student populations and their families. Key Responsibilities: Deliver specialized instruction to students with disabilities, primarily in self-contained classrooms or resource rooms Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) aligned with Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE) and IDEA federal regulations Collaborate with instructional staff, families, and related service providers to support student progress Manage caseloads with students ranging from Early Learning (pre-K) through grade 12 Apply knowledge of behavioral strategies and intervention techniques, especially suited for urban student needs Preferred Qualifications: Michigan teaching certificate with endorsement(s) in Emotional Impairment (EI), Cognitively Impaired (CI), or Learning Disabilities (LD) Endorsement ZA (Early Childhood) plus at least one special education area highly desirable Familiarity with MARSE and IDEA compliance, including federal special education standards Experience working with diverse learners in an urban school setting is strongly preferred Strong communication skills for engaging families and colleagues effectively Location:
