Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support high school students with autism who have complex needs. This full-time, contract position is based in an elementary school setting within Joliet, IL, and runs from ASAP through the end of the school year (EOSY). The role focuses on managing a high school caseload, providing specialized instruction, and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique challenges and abilities. Key Responsibilities: Develop and deliver specialized instruction designed to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of students with autism and complex needs. Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including therapists, aides, and families to create and evaluate effective educational strategies. Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to accommodate individual IEP goals and promote meaningful progress. Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and IEP compliance. Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student growth and independence. Qualifications: Valid Special Education teaching certification. Experience working with students with autism spectrum disorders and complex needs, preferably in a high school setting. Strong knowledge of special education laws, best practices, and behavior management techniques. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to adapt quickly to changing needs and work effectively within a team.
