Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This full-time, contract Special Education teaching position is available for the full school year at a K-12 school located in Norwalk, CT. The role focuses on a K-2 classroom with a maximum of 10 students. Candidates with experience in Autism and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) are highly preferred, as the classroom receives support from paraprofessionals and Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) / Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs). Key Responsibilities: Deliver individualized instruction and support to students in a K-2 special education setting Implement ABA strategies and behavioral interventions tailored to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals, BCBAs, and RBTs to address students unique learning and behavioral needs Manage and respond effectively to behaviors such as elopement, ensuring a safe classroom environment Monitor student progress and maintain detailed records in compliance with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Desired Qualifications: Valid Special Education teaching certification or licensure Experience working with students with Autism and familiarity with ABA methodologies Strong classroom management skills, including effective intervention strategies for challenging behaviors Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary support team Passion for supporting diverse learners in an inclusive educational environment Location: Norwalk, CT Setting: K-12 school, K-2 classroom Job Type: Full-time, Contract (Full School Year) If you have the expertise and dedication to positively impact young students lives in a supportive special education setting, apply now to contribute to a dynamic classroom environment.
