This contract position is for the full school year and focuses on providing specialized support to a small group of students with autism. The class size is limited to 10 students, allowing for individualized attention and tailored instructional methods. Key responsibilities for this role include designing and implementing appropriate educational plans aligned with students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), collaborating closely with paras, Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) to support student progress. The teacher will employ Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies and manage occasional elopement behaviors with effective safety protocols. Desired qualifications and experience: Certification as a Special Education Teacher with valid state credentials Experience working with students with autism using ABA methodologies Ability to manage classroom behaviors sensitively and effectively, including elopement incidents Strong collaborative skills to work alongside support staff, including paras and behavior specialists Commitment to fostering a positive, structured learning environment for young children (K-2) This role offers an opportunity to provide impactful educational support in a dynamic and supportive environment focused on student growth and success.
