A school social worker position is available to support K-12 students in Flint, Michigan, with a focus on special education intervention. This contract role runs from January 26, 2026, through June 12, 2026, and offers a 35-hour workweek. The position requires onsite presence preferred, though virtual candidates living within Michigan will be considered due to state fingerprinting requirements. Key responsibilities include: Providing intervention support for special education students in small groups or one-on-one settings Managing a caseload of approximately 35-45 students across elementary, middle, or high school levels (candidates should specify grade preference) Collaborating with school staff to address student social and emotional needs Qualifications: Masters degree in Social Work Full approval or Social Worker Certificate through the Michigan Department of Education (or SSW 310 credential letter with MDE application in process) Michigan State Social Worker license through LARA Experience working in school or related educational settings, particularly with special education populations Ability to pass a 9-panel drug screen For virtual applicants: residency in Michigan to complete required fingerprinting Location: Flint, Michigan, with consideration for candidates in surrounding areas willing to work onsite or virtually as noted.
