Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A K-12 school district in Waterford, MI seeks licensed and certified School Social Workers for contract positions for the upcoming school year. These roles require a Masters level education and full approval or certification through the Michigan Department of Education, as well as a Michigan State Social Worker license through LARA. Responsibilities: Support special education students through intervention in small groups or one-on-one sessions. Manage a caseload of approximately 35-45 students across K-12 grade levels, with a current focus primarily on elementary students. Collaborate with school staff to address student social, emotional, and behavioral needs. Qualifications: Masters degree in Social Work. Full Approval or Social Worker Certificate from the Michigan Department of Education or equivalent credential letter with application in process. Michigan State Social Worker license (LARA) is mandatory. Experience working with K-12 students, especially in special education settings. Ability to work onsite preferred; virtual candidates must reside in Michigan. Successful completion of 9-panel drug screening. State fingerprinting completed within Michigan. Additional Details: Contract duration: January 26, 2026 June 12, 2026. Approximately 35 hours per week. Candidates may indicate preferred grade level (elementary, middle, or high school).
