Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This onsite Special Education teaching opportunity supports elementary students in grades 3 through 6 with highly severe needs. The position is based in Newport, OR, within a K-12 school setting, and is a contract role for the full school year. Working closely with a small caseload of 10 students, this role requires specialized skills to provide meaningful educational support tailored to each learner. Primary responsibilities include developing, implementing, and managing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), while delivering specially designed instruction that meets the intensive needs of your students. The role may also involve crisis management strategies to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment. You will be supported by three teaching assistants provided by the district, creating a collaborative team approach to student success. Requirements and desired qualifications: Active Oregon teaching license with Special Education endorsement (mandatory) Experience managing highly severe special education caseloads Proven ability to develop and implement IEPs effectively Skills in delivering specially designed instruction for students with higher needs, including crisis management Additional special education endorsements are highly advantageous This position is onsite only, offering direct interaction and engagement with students and educational staff.
