Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity is for an onsite Special Education Teacher working with highly severe needs students in grades 3 through 6 at a K-12 school located in Otis, OR. The position is a contract role with a duration covering the next school year. The role involves managing a caseload of approximately 10 students with significant special education needs. The district provides strong support, including three teaching assistants dedicated to the classroom. Responsibilities include developing, implementing, and managing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), as well as delivering specially designed instruction tailored to higher needs students. This may also involve crisis management and behavior intervention strategies to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment. Key qualifications and desired experience include: Active Oregon Teaching License with Special Education (SPED) endorsement (required) Experience working with elementary-level students, specifically grades 3-6 Proven ability to provide specially designed instruction for students with severe disabilities Strong skills in developing and managing IEPs in compliance with state and federal guidelines Additional endorsements in Special Education are strongly preferred and considered a plus Ability to collaborate effectively with teaching assistants and other school staff Location: Onsite position at a K-12 school in Otis, OR This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated special education professional seeking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students with high support needs.
