This position is for a Special Education Teacher working with elementary students in grades 3 through 5, located in Alexandria, VA. The role focuses on a classroom serving six students within a Multi-Intervention Program for Students with Autism (MIPA). This program is designed to improve communication, on-task behavior, independent living skills, and social interaction, using a structured approach to prepare students for less restrictive settings. Responsibilities: Deliver individualized instruction to students with autism in a structured classroom setting. Collaborate with two instructional assistants to support student learning and manage classroom activities. Participate in staff meetings and professional development sessions twice monthly, which extend work hours until 5:00 pm on those days. Maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. Track student progress and adapt instruction to meet educational goals and behavioral needs. Qualifications: Valid Virginia Teaching License or eligibility for licensure. Experience teaching special education, preferably with elementary-aged students (grades K-5). Skills in managing small classrooms and implementing behavior and communication interventions. Ability to work full-time, 35 hours per week, with a schedule from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.
