A high school located in Naperville, IL, is seeking a licensed Special Education Teacher to fill an ELA-focused role for the upcoming school year. This contract position offers an opportunity to work directly with high school students requiring specialized support in English Language Arts, fostering their academic growth in an inclusive environment. Responsibilities include: Delivering tailored ELA instruction aligned with state standards to students with special education needs Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) that meet diverse learner goals Collaborating with general education teachers, support staff, and families to support student progress Monitoring and documenting student performance, adjusting strategies as necessary Maintaining a positive and structured classroom environment that promotes student engagement and success Qualifications: Valid Special Education teaching license in the state of Illinois Experience teaching English Language Arts to high school students with special needs Strong understanding of special education laws, procedures, and best practices Ability to differentiate instruction and employ a variety of teaching methods Excellent communication and collaboration skills This role requires a commitment of 37.5 hours per week throughout the contract school year.
