Job Summary
The Logistic Technician at North Mississippi Health Services is responsible for managing and organizing the supply and inventory of their designated area or department. This role engages strong organizational and communication skills to coordinate, monitor, and document purchase orders and inventory records, ensure effective maintenance and function of all equipment, and communicate and/or escalate all needs to support efficient operational management and adherence to policy and procedure.
Inventory/Stocking
Orders and maintains inventory for Supply Processing Department (S.P.D.).
Monitors and manages the storage area.
Maintains stock with vendors.
Recommends inventory stock level changes and deletions.
Prepares orders and ships products and equipment as needed.
Records shortages and damages to vendor.
Conducts yearly inventory.
Enters all items into appropriate database/computer program.
Receives, issues, and delivers all materials, supplies and equipment in a timely and accurate manner.
Performs minor maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment.
Keeps area clean and orderly.
Takes responsibility for delivery and pick-up of CSP carts (dirty & clean).
Completes annual requirements for NMHS Guidelines.
Assists in developing, implementing, maintaining, and recommending departmental processes.
Assists departments as needed.
Provides a high level of quality to customers.
Ensures that educational requirements are met each year.
Adheres to NMHS/NMMC Policies/Procedures/Guidelines.
Complies with applicable Local/State/Federal policies/procedures/guidelines/regulations/laws/statutes.
Qualifications Education
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent or equivalent. Required
Licenses and Certifications
DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State
Work Experience
Minimum of 3 years experience in Supply Logistics and Inventory Control in a Healthcare setting. Preferred
Skills
Critical thinking and analytical skills; required
Excellent written and verbal communication required
Must have working knowledge of a computer, calculator, and telephone
Must interact with a patient population including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
Must be able to organize and prioritize work orders to ensure timely completion
Must assume responsibility for receiving and distributing goods in an accurate and timely manner
Must update and maintain inventory records
Must interact daily with staff from each facility, vendors, truck drivers, and manufacturer representatives
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must reflect a positive, caring attitude at all times
Must demonstrate professional behavior in interactions with all internal and external customers
