Position Summary The HR Generalist supports the full spectrum of human resources functions, including recruitment, employee relations, compliance, performance management, and HR operations. This role serves as a key partner to employees and management, ensuring HR policies, procedures, and practices align with organizational goals and applicable labor laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Administer day-to-day HR operations including onboarding, offboarding, employee records, and HRIS maintenance
Serve as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries related to policies, benefits, payroll coordination, and workplace issues
Support recruitment efforts, including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, and offer processes
Assist with performance management processes, employee development initiatives, and training coordination
Support employee relations matters, including investigations, documentation, and resolution guidance
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations (e.g., FLSA, EEO, ADA, FMLA)
Assist with benefits administration, open enrollment, and vendor coordination
Support compensation activities, including salary benchmarking and job classification
Maintain HR policies, employee handbooks, and standard operating procedures
Assist with audits, reporting, and compliance requirements (including government or contractor-related HR reporting, if applicable)
Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to support organizational culture and workforce planning
Skills and Qualifications
Strong knowledge of HR principles, employment laws, and HR best practices
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail
Proficiency with HRIS systems, Microsoft Office, and reporting tools
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Strong problem-solving and employee advocacy skills
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
3–6 years of progressive HR experience in a generalist role
Experience in a regulated, technology, healthcare, or government-adjacent environment preferred
HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred but not required
