Job Overview Activation Team at Montgomery Parks is hiring a Site Coordinator to bring our events to life! This role will provide onsite event coordination of the Parks Playhouse Jr. event series that takes place in the spring and summer months. Parks Playhouse Junior is a series of interactive children’s performances at parks across Montgomery County, offering a diverse lineup of entertainment for kids and families. What You’ll Do

Coordinate the onsite implementation of the Parks Playhouse Jr. Series (May through August)

Serve as the on-site representative for Montgomery Parks Activation team for staff, vendors, and guests.

Provide leadership and supervision at events.

Engage attendees, promptly address questions and concerns.

Manage special event timelines and checklists at events.

Monitor events on-site, ensuring safety and success.

Provide support to the Parks Activation Team.

Perform related tasks as required.

When You’ll Work

Mostly weekday and weekend mornings, especially from mid-May through early August.

Occasional opportunities to support other special events throughout the year, including mornings, evenings, and some holidays.

20-30 hours per week. Requires weekday and weekend availability according to the event schedule.

Who We’re Looking For Enthusiastic, reliable team players with event leadership experience who enjoy working outdoors and with families. Great opportunity for anyone interested in parks, recreation, or special events.

Minimum Qualifications

Valid Maryland driver’s license.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Stand for at least two hours at a time.

Walk at least a half a mile up and down moderate hills without difficulty.

Tolerate working in various weather conditions, including heat, rain, humidity, and cold.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience facilitating and leading special events and programs.

Experience with special events equipment.

Experience with and knowledge of coordinating special events.

Previous customer service experience.

Experience driving large vehicles (pick‑up truck and/or box truck).

Bilingual/Multilingual a plus.

Supplemental Information

This position is part‑time and not eligible for benefits.

A background investigation will be completed prior to hire.

This position is based out of Gaithersburg, MD and works at park locations throughout Montgomery County.

Position pays at a rate of $22 to $25 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.
