The Activation Team at Montgomery Parks is hiring a Site Coordinator to bring our events to life. This role will provide on‑site event coordination for the Parks Playhouse Jr. event series, which takes place during the spring and summer months. Parks Playhouse Junior is a series of interactive children’s performances held in parks across Montgomery County, offering a diverse lineup of entertainment for kids and families. Responsibilities

Assist with the set up and breakdown of event spaces and equipment including tables, chairs, tents, signage, etc.

Assist with loading and unloading vehicles for events.

Monitor events on‑site, including all event activities, ensuring safety and success of the event.

Engage with event attendees and provide friendly, helpful customer service.

Help maintain our special events inventory and warehouse located in Gaithersburg, MD.

Provide support to Parks Activation staff.

Perform related tasks as required.

Working Hours & Schedule

Opportunities to work will be according to the event schedule throughout the year, and will include weekdays, weekends, mornings, evenings, and some holidays.

20–30 hours per week. The position requires weekday and weekend availability according to the event schedule.

Minimum Qualifications

Must possess a valid Maryland driver’s license.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Stand for at least two hours at a time.

Walk at least a half a mile up and down moderate hills without difficulty.

Tolerance for working in various weather conditions, including heat, rain, humidity, and cold.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience facilitating and leading special events and programs.

Experience with special events equipment.

Experience with and knowledge of coordinating special events.

Previous customer service experience.

Experience driving large vehicles (pick‑up truck and/or box truck).

Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus.

Additional Information

May be subject to medical, drug and alcohol testing.

This position is part‑time and not eligible for benefits.

A background investigation will be completed prior to hire.

Must possess a valid Maryland driver’s license.

This position is based out of Gaithersburg, MD and works at park locations throughout Montgomery County.

Position pays at a rate of $15.45 to $19.75 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.
