Your role and responsibilities This position reports to the Maintenance Specialist and will support the business in achieving customer needs by adhering to ABB systems, processes, and procedures. You will use machinery and equipment inside and outside the plant, read and interpret technical diagrams and instructions, and perform maintenance on products, systems, panels, exterior and interior facilities, and more.

Key responsibilities
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance as part of the Athens Plant Maintenance Team, including exterior and interior facilities.
Demonstrate a high level of mechanical skills and self‑motivation.
Understand and respond to verbal and written technical instructions in English.
Respond to plant emergencies and breakdowns.
Daily reporting to your supervisor and/or team.
Read and interpret information from blueprints, schematics, and other documentation in hard copy or electronic formats.
Function safely in an industrial manufacturing setting with shift and weekend work as required.
Adhere to attendance and punctuality standards.
Use overhead crane/hoist systems.
Interpret and follow manuals in English to maintain equipment.
Demonstrate required proficiency on grade progression checklists.
Follow lock out/tag out and all other safety procedures.
Additional responsibilities Conform to ABB policies and procedures. Perform housekeeping and exterior/ interior facility maintenance, and other duties as required. Train, share knowledge, and provide information to coworkers.
Physical requirements Lift up to 50 lbs close to the body and 35 lbs away from the body 60% of the time; more than 50 lbs 40% of the time with assistance. Use personal protective equipment. Vision required to read directions, prints and gauges. Frequent bending, stooping, twisting and lifting. Stand for extended periods. Work in a manufacturing factory environment exposed to concrete floor, heat, cold, noise, and possible allergens. Perform physically highly repetitive tasks.
Education requirements High School diploma or equivalent (GED). Computer and maintenance technology proficiency. Technical school training preferred. Electrical training/knowledge preferred. Basic computer skills as defined by the company. Maintenance experience and/or certification. Pass Athens Plant Maintenance Exam.
