An Environmental Field Ops Technician job is available with the City of Fort Worth, Environmental Services Department, Environmental Collection Center. This position provides customer service, educational outreach, and conducts field investigations, while also enhancing community awareness through departmental events, solid waste collection programs, and litter clean-up events.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED

Valid Texas driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

Must pass drug screen and physical

Electronic operations, including taking and sending photos

Solid Waste Operations Collections

Customer Service experience

Responsibilities

Provide in-person education about Department Events and Solid Waste Collection Programs

Leave educational material for residents

Conduct field investigations and promote department events to the community

Input daily audit data into the city software system

Investigate and identify contractor and resident issues related to Solid Waste

Working Conditions Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, repetitive motions, climbing, balancing, pushing, pulling and lifting; inc. exposure to moving mechanical parts, odors, dusts, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, intense noises, gases, vibrations, chemicals, oils and workspace restrictions. Medium Work – Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly having to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for the Sedentary Work category and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated Light Work.
