A
positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
are essential, as you’ll be representing our department at a wide variety of events including receptions, banquets, academic programs, and special functions. Shifts are scheduled on an as-needed basis depending on event needs. Available shifts are given with advance notice, usually 2-3 weeks prior to event date. Set up and break down event spaces, including catering equipment such as chafers, place settings and linens. Serve food and beverages efficiently and professionally, mostly banquet and buffet style, occasionally seated plated style. Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas. Follow all health and safety regulations. Engage guests with courtesy and a positive, helpful attitude. Assist with post-event cleanup as needed. Follow directions from catering manager. Demonstrates professionalism and collegiality through actions, interactions, and communications with others appropriate to an environment that is welcoming to all. Performs other duties as assigned.
