Certified Medical Assistant – Primary Care – Physician Practice

Responsibilities A day in the life of a Certified Medical Assistant includes:
Prepares exam room, treatment room, supplies, and instruments. Prepares patients for physician visits and examinations, assisting as directed. Records vital signs in the medical chart. Operates special equipment: EKG, PFT, audiometry, titmus test, UDS, BAT, phlebotomy, and other lab tests. Maintains records, files reports, and assists with collections/billing procedures. Uses computer software to maintain office systems. Identifies and responds to confidentiality issues. Adapts care to patient needs, communicating at their level. Performs other duties and projects as assigned. Adheres to HMH organizational competencies and standards of behavior. Physical requirements: lifts a minimum of 5 lbs, pushes/pulls 10 lbs, stands a minimum of 6 hours a day.
Qualifications Required • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent program. • Excellent communication skills. • Ability to interact effectively with diverse populations. • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment. • Knowledge of computerized processes and data entry procedures.
Preferred • Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program. • Certifications: Certified Medical Assistant, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, Certified Registered Medical Assistant, nationally registered certified medical assistant, clinical medical assistant certificate, registered clinical medical assistant specialist, national certified medical assistant. • AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
Compensation Starting at $23.27 hourly. HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency. The posted rate is a good faith estimate of the minimum base pay and does not reflect the full value of our market‑competitive total rewards package.
