CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT - VASCULAR SURGERY - PHYSICIAN PRACTICE

The Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting in the provision of clinical care to selected patients under the supervision of a professional nurse or licensed medical practitioner, and also provides clerical office assistance. Travel is required between two offices in Edison. Minimum one year of experience preferred. Responsibilities

Prepare exam and treatment rooms, supplies, and instruments. Assist patients for physician visits and examinations as directed. Take patients’ vital signs and record them in the medical chart. Understand proper function and care of special equipment. Perform EKG, PFT, Audiometry, Titmus Test, UDS, BAT, Phlebotomy, and other lab testing after completion of performance evaluation checklists. Maintain records by completing patient records as directed, filing records and reports. Assist with collections and billing procedures as needed. Use computer software to maintain office systems. Identify and respond to issues of confidentiality. Identify the needs of the patient population served and adapt care to those needs (e.g., age, culture, language, hearing and/or visual impairment). Communicate with patients and caregivers at their level. Other duties and/or projects as assigned. Adhere to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior. Lift a minimum of 5 lbs, push and pull a minimum of 5 lbs, and stand for a minimum of 1 hour per day. Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED). Excellent communication skills. Ability to interact effectively and supportively with diverse populations. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment. Knowledge of computerized processes and data entry procedures. Preferred Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program. Licenses & Certifications Required

Certified Medical Assistant or Certified Registered Medical Assistant or National Certified Medical Assistant or Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Clinical Medical Assistant Specialist. AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification. Compensation

Minimum rate of $23.27 hourly. Job Duties

Compensation is benchmarked against market data to ensure competitiveness. Consideration of experience, education, certifications, skills, geographic location, internal equity, budget, and grant funding. Potential eligibility for performance‑based incentives, bonuses, or commissions not reflected in the starting rate. Possible shift differentials for evening, night, or weekend shifts.
