As a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) at HMH, you will support clinical staff in a fast‑paced physician practice, performing a variety of clinical and clerical duties under the supervision of a licensed medical professional. Responsibilities
Prepare exam room, treatment room, supplies and instruments. Assist patients in preparation for physician visit and exam as directed. Take vital signs and record patient information in the medical chart. Perform EKG, PFT, audiometry, titmus test and other clinical testing as indicated after a performance evaluation checklist completion, including UDS, BAT, phlebotomy and other lab testing. Maintain patient records, file records and reports. Assist with collections/billing procedures as needed. Use computer software to maintain office systems. Identify and respond to issues of confidentiality. Communicate with patient, parent or primary caregiver in a manner appropriate to the patient population served (e.g., age, culture, language, hearing and/or visual impairment). Adapt and deliver care specific to the patient population’s needs. Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned. Adhere to HMH organizational competencies and standards of behavior. Lift a minimum of 5 lbs., push and pull a minimum of 5 lbs. and stand for a minimum of 1 hour each day. Qualifications
High school diploma or GED. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment. Knowledge of computerized processes and data entry procedures. Certifications: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred. Licenses and Certifications
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent. Basic Health Care Life Support (BLS) or higher. Compensation
