2025-26 Track & Field Assistant Coach (Pole Vault) – Paradise Valley HS Position : Assistant Track & Field Coach – Pole Vault

Location : Paradise Valley High School, Paradise Valley Unified School District

Employment type : Temporary (1.0 FTE) – Season: 02/09/2026 – 05/09/2026

Salary : $2,431.00 per week (approx.)

Purpose Statement:

The Assistant Coach is responsible for designing and implementing pole vault program activities, supervising student athletes, communicating with stakeholders, maintaining records, and ensuring a safe, competitive environment.

Essential Functions:

Assess students and provide performance feedback or team placement decisions.

Attend meetings, workshops, and conferences for professional development.

Communicate with parents, students, officials, administrators, and community members.

Instruct student athletes to promote skill growth, teamwork and sportsmanship.

Maintain records such as statistics, insurance, permission forms, schedules, equipment inventories.

Manage uniforms, equipment and school facilities.

Monitor academic eligibility and provide support to students needing assistance.

Supervise athletes during practice and competition to minimize injury risk.

Teach techniques, rules, strategies and tactics for competition.

Other Functions:

Performed other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient functioning of the work unit.

Job Requirements – Minimum Qualifications:

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

– Ability to adapt to changing priorities, administer first aid, apply laws and regulations, communicate effectively, use equipment safely, solve problems, and manage schedules.

Experience

– Job-related experience required.

Education

– High school diploma or equivalent.

Certifications

– Valid Arizona DPS Level I IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Clearances

– Criminal background clearance.

FLSA Status

– Non Exempt.

Work Environment: Physical Demands

– Occasional lifting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, and significant fine finger dexterity. Requires about 20% sitting, 40% walking, and 40% standing.
