Introduction
The Department of Health Services (DHS), Central Wisconsin Center (CWC) is recruiting for a full‑time Food Service Manager. This position requires work from 11:00 am to 7:30 pm, with coverage on every fourth weekend and holidays according to rotation/coverage.
Position Summary As a Food Service Manager, you will be responsible for the daily operations of patient meal service and the CWC Bistro, carrying out duties in administration, customer service, and employee management while maintaining high standards of sanitation and safety to meet regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
Oversee daily patient meal service operations.
Manage the CWC Bistro operations.
Administrate food service activities, including meal planning and staff scheduling.
Provide customer service and maintain client satisfaction.
Ensure sanitation and safety standards meet regulatory requirements.
Train and supervise kitchen staff and volunteers.
Maintain accurate inventory and ordering records.
Qualifications
Leadership experience (mentoring, training, performance evaluations).
Experience in food production duties (cooking, standardized recipes, food safety and sanitation).
Knowledge of commercial food service equipment (ovens, steamers, mixers, dish machines).
Experience managing food service inventory and ordering supplies.
Formal supervisory experience (performance evaluations, hiring, discipline).
Proficiency with food service computer programs (e.g., Automate, TempTrak, CBORD).
Experience providing food service in a long‑term care or healthcare setting.
Experience in menu development and recipe creation.
Salary and Benefits The starting salary is $30.00–$33.96 per hour ($62,400–$70,600 per year) plus comprehensive benefits, including vacation, paid holidays, health plans, retirement, and additional programs. A 12‑month probationary period applies.
