Senior Technician, Refrigeration/HVAC – Walmart
Walmart is expanding its workforce across local retail stores and is actively recruiting a Senior Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician. This role supports and oversees repair and maintenance of the Walmart facilities' Refrigeration HVAC equipment team and assets.
Responsibilities
Maintain and repair Walmart facility Refrigeration HVAC equipment using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills with hand tools, digital tools and power tools.
Utilize the work order management system to receive repair Work Orders, support stores and store associates, and document repair activities.
Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations by performing work according to Walmart’s safety policy and environmental guidelines.
Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work comfortably at heights as required.
Minimum Qualifications
10 years’ experience in commercial Refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
Large scale rack refrigeration experience.
Type I/Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass an MVR report.
18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
Alternative: 8 years experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration and AAS in A/C and Refrigeration.
Preferred Qualifications
Completion of a 2‑year technical/vocational HVAC/R program or 2‑year associate’s in A/C and refrigeration.
Excellent driving record.
Prior work experience with glycol and CO₂ systems.
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly wage range: $26.00–$51.00, depending on skills, experience, and job offer level.
Additional compensation in the form of premiums ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
Eligible for bonus incentives.
