Overview The Lead Assistant Golf Professional at Minneapolis Golf Club is responsible for promoting hospitality and goodwill among the membership while delivering an exceptional, tradition-driven golf experience. This role supports the Head Golf Professional through the organization and execution of tournaments and events, providing golf instruction, maintaining high merchandising standards, and actively engaging with members through daily interaction and play. The Lead Assistant Golf Professional upholds the traditions and rules of the game while ensuring all golf operations reflect the expectations, service standards, and championship heritage of Minneapolis Golf Club.

Experience Required

High school diploma or equivalent required

Preferred 3‑5 years of experience as an Assistant Golf Professional at a private club; experience managing club tournaments and outside outings preferred.

PGA Class A Membership or actively pursuing PGA membership through the PGM program.

Essential Responsibilities

Promote all Club activities and services, acting as an ambassador for the Club

Be available to members for golf instruction

Be a visible leader within the operation promoting an exception member experience by supporting in starting, pace of play, and the warm welcome of members and guest.

Lead the coordination and execution of club tournaments, outings, and member events, including preparation of tee sheets, scorecards, cart signs, contest setups, scoring, and awards presentations. Experienced with tournament software and comfortable executing an event from start to finish.

Support the Head Golf Professional in maintaining proper billing and fee collection processes, ensuring all Club revenue is realized.

Support the management and merchandising of the golf shop, including merchandise displays, sales, inventory control, special orders, and vendor relations using Jonas.

Support the Head Golf Professional in staff training, and ongoing performance management for golf operations staff.

Perform basic club repairs & custom fitting.

Assist in organizing and promoting Junior golf.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, managers, members and guests.

Playing Golf: Encouraged to play with the membership and tournaments.

Provide excellent customer service at all times.
