$8,678.00 – $10,569.00 per month (new to state hired at minimum salary).

Job Description:

Under the general direction of the Senior Psychologist, Correctional Facility (CF) or the Supervising Psychiatric Social Worker, CF, the Clinical Social Worker (Health/CF) – Safety provides assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, group therapy, collateral conferences, and documentation for correctional patients. The role coordinates placement with community resources, the Classification and Parole Representative, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary treatment team.

Responsibilities:

Conduct clinical assessments and summarize case information for diagnosis and treatment plans.

Develop, monitor, and modify treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.

Provide group therapy, collateral conferences, and document patients’ progress.

Coordinate placement with community resources and the Classification and Parole Representative.

Ensure compliance with patient confidentiality, professional standards, and agency policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

Valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science.

Completion of a master’s degree in social work from an accredited school (Council on Social Work Education).

Eligibility to secure the license within four years if not yet licensed; unlicensed individuals may be appointed for up to a year under waiver conditions.

Benefits and Incentives:

Opportunity for a $10,000 one‑time recruitment and retention stipend (subject to eligibility) and a monthly differential during the first year (totaling $20,000). Eligible CDCR/CCHCS employees may also receive a $5,000 referral bonus.
