SUMMARY The primary responsibility of the Forklift Operator is to support warehouse operations through the safe and efficient loading and unloading of product, inventory movement, and daily facility upkeep. This role ensures accurate inventory handling, maintains warehouse cleanliness and safety standards, and contributes to the timely preparation of deliveries.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Safely and accurately unload inbound / outbound product deliveries and receive them into inventory.

Utilize WMS system to locate, receive and move products.

Assist in selection and loading of kegs.

Assist in returning good beer.

Clear dunnage from pick row and load dunnage returns to breweries following company and supplier guidelines and submit accurate paperwork to shift manager.

Load trucks for outbound deliveries.

Safely operate balers to compress cardboard, plastic, and process completed bales properly.

Maintain company cleanliness and organizational standards in assigned areas daily.

Fill pick row daily as needed, following product rotation guidelines.

Responsible for movement to staging area of POS (point-of-sale) materials for sales to put away

Safely operates warehouse equipment including forklift, baler, sweeper/scrubber, electric jack, wrapper, glue gun, and manual pallet jack.

Process out-of-date, unsalable and close-date product by warehouse.

Assists in morning check out process of trucks, loading and corrections.

Follow all company safety rules and practices, including pre-work and post-work inspections.

Utilize fork extensions when moving large wooden pallets to keep from splitting pallets

Build customer pickups and hot shot orders

Always adhere to dress code and be properly attired and groomed.

Obey all federal, state, and local laws.

Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION Duties require the ability to read, write and understand simple instructions. Requires an understanding of basic math, accuracy in checking, sorting, counting, and other routine procedures. RESONSIBILITY FOR MATERIAL OR PRODUCT Errors would result in total loss of product which could not be salvaged or reworked. Probable loss could be very high. Degree: 5, Points: 25

RESPONSIBILITY FOR SAFETY OF OTHERS Safety of others depends entirely on correct action of employee on job being rated; accidents, should they occur, may result in total disability or death. Degree: 5, Points: 25

TOTAL POINTS: 183 GRADE: 2

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Certified forklift operator.

HAZARDS Injuries, should they occur, may result in loss of time due to crushed hand or foot, eye injuries, abrasions and cuts, etc.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications A candidate who does not meet the following minimum qualification will not be considered for this position.

A high school education is not required but would provide the basic skills necessary to learn the job.

Up to and including 3 months experience in a related field.

Certified forklift operator.

Internal candidates must have a recommendation from their manager or department head.
