Library Collection Management Specialist II

Key Responsibilities
Create and place orders in the ILS with appropriate vendors.
Receive, inspect, and verify shipments; reconcile records with ILS and vendors; resolve discrepancies; create invoices.
Maintain, run, and distribute reports and spreadsheets accurately.
Collect, compile, and enter data in the Library Stats database and other tracking tools.
Perform quality control of outsourced physical materials; note and correct discrepancies.
Process non‑outsourced materials, including gifts, donations, and replacements; repair and refresh materials as needed.
Enter Bestsellers into the ILS and perform quality control on all Library materials.
Transfer and process identified Bestsellers to the permanent collection.
Maintain bookable collections and distribute materials appropriately.
Redistribute non‑HCPL materials to the appropriate owning library.
Work closely with patrons and system staff to resolve redistribution issues.
General Collection Management
Handle and resolve a variety of issues, including complex problems, independently and within guidelines.
Cooperate and interact efficiently with colleagues; assist with training and cross‑training.
Participate in HR‑sponsored classes, completing two per year in collaboration with supervisor.
Serve on committees, assist with special projects, or support outreach efforts as needed.
Collaborate with other Library staff and colleagues effectively.
Serve as a liaison with vendors regarding collections, trends, and other issues.
Attend all scheduled meetings, training, and maintain required certifications.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Skills
Strong organization skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow directions.
Efficient and accurate data entry.
Strong communication skills and customer service ethic.
Considerable knowledge of library procedures and practices.
Proficiency with Sirsi, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Office; able to navigate library and vendor databases.
Depending on assignment, strong math skills and ability to maintain accurate records of accounts and acquisition budgets.
Ability to lift and carry 21‑40 pounds.
Able to manage own workload under supervision.
Minimum Qualifications Two (2) years of relevant college‑level coursework; a relevant two‑year degree preferred; and two (2) years of experience at Level I; OR any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

A criminal history record check and fingerprinting is conducted on all persons conditionally offered employment, including a conditional offer of initial employment, or a conditional offer to promote, demote, or laterally transfer an employee.
May require the ability to work at various locations in the County.
May require ability to work a flexible schedule as needed.

Maximum Salary: USD 79,144
