Job Posting: Caltrans Electronics Specialist – Department of Transportation (JC‑504019)
Salary: $5,960.00 – $7,480.00 per month. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or the minimum of the alternate range when applicable.

Under general supervision from the Caltrans Electronics Specialist Supervisor or Caltrans Electrical Supervisor, the incumbent will perform electrical and electronic installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work on equipment related to traffic signals and other State electrical facilities. The position also includes benchwork repairs down to electronic‑circuit component levels and may be used for various field and support functions.
Working Conditions This role is primarily a shop position but may require work in a wide range of weather conditions, from cold to 30 °F to heat up to 120 °F, strong winds, rain, dust, noise, and uneven surfaces. Employees may work weekends, nights, and overtime as needed with proper advance notice.
Minimum Requirements
Caltrans Electronics Specialist (Repair Laborator) classification, salary range $5,960.00–$7,480.00.
Valid driver’s license required when operating a State‑owned or leased vehicle.
Possession of the minimum qualifications in the Class Specification will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment.
Applicants must provide official or unofficial transcripts or degree equivalency reports for any foreign credentials.
