Part-Time Security Officer
Williamsburg Landing, a CARF-accredited life plan community, seeks a Part‑Time Security Officer to respond to resident needs and emergencies, monitor and respond to alarms, maintain traffic control, and investigate accidents, injuries, and disturbances as required.
Shift Information The Officer will fill in vacant shifts as needed. Shifts could be 7 am–3:30 pm, 3 pm–11:30 pm, or 11 pm–7:30 am.
Pay Starting pay rate is $15.50 /hr and is commensurate with experience.
Security Officer Job Duties
Coordinate and participate in emergency situations, providing detailed documentation of activities during the shift and writing articulate incident reports.
Report unsafe conditions to the Security Manager to facilitate quick corrective action.
Respond to drills, disasters, fire alarms, or other emergency incidents and provide necessary support and controls.
Maintain a secure and reliable key/access control system.
Monitor and control access to Williamsburg Landing property; assist visitors with legitimate need to gain entry; screen visitors, contractors, vendors, suppliers, guests, and employees efficiently to expedite admittance.
Patrol property and site buildings checking for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked ingress and egress, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons; inspect buildings and grounds on a defined schedule; periodically patrol property.
Observe and report incidents or suspicious activity to management and/or public safety authorities.
Assist others during emergencies, which may include providing emergency first aid, CPR, AED, and manually lifting or transporting those in a compromised state.
Employees may be required to work overtime or variable shifts and be on call.
Security Officer Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
Current Commonwealth of Virginia Driver’s License.
Ability to read and write clearly in English; ability to speak clearly over the phone or hand‑held radio.
Ability to climb stairs, get in and out of a motor vehicle unassisted, stand and walk for long periods of time.
Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 lb.; ability to stoop, kneel, bend, and reach during the normal course of the day.
Ability to complete the Department Field Training Program within 30 days of hire.
Ability to obtain CPR, AED, and First Aid certification.
