Heavy Equipment/ Hydraulic Mechanic (***Higher pay range***)
Location: 9685 Ulmerton Rd., Largo, FL
Are you a professional mechanic who provides exceptional service? Well, we are looking for you to join our team to play a key role in the success of our business.
Fleet management is an integral part of keeping our county progressing forward with a mission to respond rapidly and effectively to the transportation needs of County departments and agencies.
What Would You Do?
Diagnosis/repair of engine, fuel system, drive train, steering, brakes, and suspension components on heavy equipment, zero turn mowers, hydraulic systems, pumps, forklifts, man lifts, tractors, boom mowers, all types of construction and earth moving equipment, Gradalls, Excavators, and other smaller equipment just to name a few
Diagnosis/repair of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and electronic systems and components on a variety of heavy equipmentand associated apparatus and/or diagnosis/repair
Use of precision diagnostic tools and measuring devices to aid in the diagnosis and repair of the above-mentioned systems and components
Diagnosis and repair of air conditioning systems.
Electronic and engine diagnosis utilizing sophisticated diagnostic equipment.
Programming electronic components in equipment.
Performs related work as assigned or required.

What Do You Need To Have?
At least 5 years of journeyman level experience in the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment, truck, or off-road; or
An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
Attainment of ASE certifications in brakes and suspension & steering under Medium-Heavy Truck within 1 year of hire.
Attainment of Mobile Air Conditioning Society or ASE air conditioning certifications within 1 year of hire.
Possession and maintenance of a Florida Commercial Driver’s License Class A within 1 year of employment with eligibility based upon evaluation of a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) driving report.
Assignment to work a variety of work schedules including compulsory work periods in special, emergency, and/or disaster situations.
