Position Summary The
Medical Assistant III
provides supportive patient care functions for an assigned clinical area under the supervision of a Physician, Registered Nurse, or Licensed Vocational Nurse. This role ensures patient safety and comfort according to legal, organizational, and professional standards. Duties include administration of injectables and other advanced clinical tasks.
Essential Responsibilities Clerical Duties: Review physician schedules, prepare patient visit summaries, and manage documentation. Schedule appointments, assist with referrals, and provide patient education materials. Maintain HIPAA compliance and proper disposal of confidential information.
Patient Care: Room patients, obtain demographics, history, and vital signs. Reconcile medication lists and update pharmacy information. Assist physicians during exams and minor procedures. Collect and transport specimens; perform CPR in emergencies.
Hematology-Oncology Specific Duties: Administer influenza injections (IM). Assist with pulse oximetry and BRCA specimen collection. Document medications and procedures accurately.
Required Qualifications Experience:
Minimum 5 years as a Medical Assistant. Certification:
Certified/Registered Medical Assistant. Skills:
Strong interpersonal skills, highly motivated, detail oriented.
Nice-to-Have Attributes Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
