American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Progressive Care Unit position with strong cardiac and trauma experience required.
Job Details
- Work in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting within a hospital,
- Care for post cardiac and post vascular surgery patients,
- Staffing ratios range from 1:3-5 depending on acuity,
- Night shift schedule (three 12-hour shifts, 19:00-07:30), with every other weekend required and possible consecutive weekends based on need,
- Floating may be required to Med-Surg, PCU, or ICU at two hospital locations,
- EMR used is Cerner and experience is required,
- Charge nurse responsibilities may be assigned as needed after training,
Job Requirements
- Active IN or compact RN license in hand by start date,
- Current ACLS and BCLS certifications accepted by AHA or RQI,
- Minimum 18 months to 2 years of experience in a similar setting,
- Previous Level I or II trauma experience required,
- Telemetry experience and competency with IV start and cardiac drip titration required,
- Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program,
- COVID vaccination required unless an approved medical or religious exemption is provided,
- Local candidates are not accepted for PCU positions,
Additional Information
- Duties include managing complex post-op cardiac and vascular patients and titrating cardiac drips,
- All travelers must float within the hospital and to affiliated nearby hospitals as needed,
- Must be able to work at least two out of three major holidays during the contract,
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply,
- Up to 5 days of requested time off (RTO) can be auto-approved,
- Former perm or PRN staff must be separated from the facility for at least 12 months before consideration,
- Charge coverage or additional unit responsibilities may be assigned as needed,
