American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) night shift position requiring at least 2 years of critical care experience and an active MO or compact RN license.

Job Details

- Position is in the Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) of an acute care hospital,

- Care for cardio-thoracic surgery, open heart, TAVR, post cath lab, and post cardiac surgery patients with telemetry,

- Night shift schedule: 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30,

- ICU nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:1; Telemetry nurse-to-patient ratio is 2:1,

- Required to work 6 weekend shifts during a 6-week period, every other weekend,

- No on-call responsibilities,

- May float to other cardiac units within the service line as needed,

- Charting is done using EPIC,

- Navy scrubs are required,

Job Requirements

- Active MO or compact RN license required; pending license accepted for consideration,

- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required,

- At least 2 years of recent CVU or critical care nursing experience required,

- Experience in hemodynamics and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips required,

- Experience with cardiac assistive machines and EPIC charting is preferred,

- Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler,

- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility,

- No first-time travelers will be considered,

- No more than 7 days of requested time off for the entire 13-week contract,

- No time off will be granted the first week of orientation,

Additional Information

- Manage care for post-op cardiac and cardiothoracic surgery patients requiring telemetry and close hemodynamic monitoring,

- Must be trained in caring for TAVR, post-cath lab, and other cardiac surgery cases,

- Travelers are required to work assigned holidays as necessary,

- Team-based environment with support from experienced cardiac care staff,

- Candidates must complete required modules prior to starting, with compensation for up to 16 hours,
