American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Cardiac/CVICU ICU experience and a MO or compact RN license.
Job Details
- Position located in a hospital Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) within a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma Center and teaching environment,
- Night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM,
- Patient ratios are 1:2,
- Patient population includes acute heart failure, CHF exacerbation, fluid overload, post-cardiac arrest, heart block, cardiogenic shock, pre-heart transplant, arrhythmias, ventricular tachycardia,
- Specialized procedures and equipment used include ventilator management, arterial line and pulmonary artery catheter management, pacemakers, impellas, balloon pumps, LVADs, vasoactive drips, dialysis, and intra-aortic balloon pumps,
- Charting is performed using Epic EMR,
- Weekend shifts required every other weekend,
- Float within the service line as needed,
Job Requirements
- Active MO or compact RN license required,
- BSN required,
- Current certifications in ACLS and BLS required,
- Minimum 2 years of Cardiac/CVICU ICU experience required,
- Must have experience with ventilators, arterial lines, pulmonary artery catheterization, pacemakers, impellas, balloon pumps, LVADs, and dialysis,
- EPIC charting experience required,
- Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility (no local candidates),
- Must pass Relias EKG exam prior to start,
- Pending license accepted for consideration,
Additional Information
- Perform specialized cardiovascular critical care nursing for high-acuity cardiac patients,
- No on-call responsibilities,
- Up to 2 time-off requests allowed during contract, not exceeding 40 hours in total,
- No more than 7 days requested time off per 13-week contract,
- No requests for time off accepted during first week of orientation,
- Must wear navy blue scrubs,
- Parking details provided during orientation; night shift parking is free, otherwise parking fees may apply,
- Returning permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as travelers,
- Position not open to first-time travelers,
- Travelers can remain for up to 18 months but must take a 3-month break after this period,
- Orientation includes paid completion of required modules and EKG testing,
