American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) position requiring at least 2 years of recent cardiac ICU experience and a MO or compact RN license.
Job Details
- Work in the Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) of a short-term acute care, Magnet-certified, teaching, Level I trauma hospital,
- Provides care to critically ill cardiac patients including those with acute heart failure, CHF exacerbation, post-cardiac arrest, arrhythmias, ventricular tachycardia, and pre-heart transplant cases,
- Patient ratio is 1:2,
- Performs specialized procedures such as ventilator management, arterial line management, pulmonary artery catheter management, pacemakers, impellas, balloon pumps, LVADs, intra-aortic balloon pumps, and dialysis,
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00 - 07:30), with every other weekend required,
- Floating within service line may be required as needed,
- Uses Epic EMR and experience is required,
- No on-call responsibilities,
- Contract length of 16 weeks preferred, but 13 weeks accepted,
- No local candidates accepted; must live at least 75 miles from the facility,
Job Requirements
- Active MO or compact RN license required,
- Minimum of 2 years current cardiac/CVICU ICU nursing experience,
- BSN required,
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required,
- Epic charting experience required,
- Must pass Relias EKG exam,
- No previous permanent employment with the health system within the last year,
- New graduate and first-time travelers are not accepted,
- Pending license accepted if obtained prior to start date,
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include management of ventilators, arterial lines, PA/TVP catheters, pacemakers, impellas, balloon pumps, LVADs, acute heart failure and cardiogenic shock cases,
- Dress code requires navy blue scrubs,
- Parking arrangements available for a monthly fee; separate guidelines apply for night shifts,
- Orientation parking requires a $15 fee and is not reimbursed,
- No RTO allowed during the first week of orientation; up to 40 hours (5 days) of RTO allowed during the contract,
- Travelers may stay up to 18 months at the facility, with a 3-month break required after 18 months,
- Must complete online modules prior to start, compensated up to 16 hours for this time,
