American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring 2 years of recent cardiac ICU experience and BSN, BLS, and ACLS certifications.
Job Details
- Position located in a Cardiovascular ICU within a short-term acute care, Magnet and teaching hospital,
- Works with a ratio of 1:2 caring for cardiac and critically ill patients,
- Handles acute heart failure, CHF exacerbation, post-cardiac arrest, complete heart block, cardiogenic shock, pre-heart transplant, and arrhythmias,
- Care includes ventilator management, arterial line and pulmonary artery catheter management, pacemaker, LVAD, Impella, intra-aortic balloon pump, dialysis, and vasoactive drips,
- Uses EPIC for electronic charting; prior EPIC experience preferred,
- Night shifts, four 12-hour shifts per week (19:00-07:30) with every other weekend required,
- No on-call responsibilities,
- Floating is required within the service line as needed,
- Position is for a 13-week minimum contract with the option for 16 weeks,
Job Requirements
- Active MO or compact RN license required (can be pending at time of consideration),
- BSN degree, BLS and ACLS certifications required,
- At least 2 years of recent cardiac/CVICU experience required,
- Must be able to manage LVADs, Impella, ventilators, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring,
- Must successfully pass the Relias EKG exam prior to start,
- EPIC charting experience preferred,
- Home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted,
- First-time travelers are not accepted,
- Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler,
Additional Information
- Duties include complex cardiac and intensive care for critical patients using advanced life-support equipment,
- Navy blue scrubs are required,
- Testing and orientation modules must be completed prior to first shift,
- No more than two time-off requests, totaling no more than 40 hours, allowed during contract,
- No time off is permitted during the first week of orientation,
- Travelers may stay up to 18 months, followed by a mandatory 3-month break,
- Parking information and fees will be provided during orientation; night shift parking is free,
- Level I trauma center environment,
