Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care Unit

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit position with telemetry and neuro experience, flexibility for weekend shifts required.
Job Details
- Work in a hospital-based Progressive Care Unit (PCU),
- Patient population includes CVAs, hydrocephalus, brain tumors and resections, seizures, TBIs, trauma cases, GI surgeries, and large wound management,
- Staffing ratios are typically 1:3-4, rarely up to 1:5 in emergencies,
- Unit uses Cerner EMR and Cerner charting experience is required,
- Shift is Days, 3x12 hours from 7:00 to 19:30,
- Weekend coverage required for at least 50% of weekends during the contract,
- Floating is expected within the hospital and to affiliate hospitals, including different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU),
- Travelers may be assigned precepting duties or have students shadowing them as part of the hospital's teaching program,
Job Requirements
- Active IN or Compact RN license in hand at time of application,
- Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience required,
- Current ACLS, BCLS, and NIHSS certifications (AHA or RQI accepted),
- Proficiency in telemetry, neuro nursing care, and management of drips required,
- Experience with Cerner EMR required,
- Education must be from a nursing program accredited by ACEN or CCNE,
- Conscious sedation and Level 1 trauma experience preferred,
- Must be open to floating to various care levels and facilities as needed,
- Not accepting local candidates for this position,
- Applicants who were permanent or PRN employees must be separated for at least 12 months before being eligible,
Additional Information
- Responsibilities may include charge nurse coverage based on operational needs with appropriate training provided,
- First-time travelers are accepted for this role,
- RTO policy allows for up to 5 days of requested time off to be auto-approved,
- Must be willing to work 2 out of 3 major holidays during assignment,
- Call-ins may be required to be made up during the contract based on FTE status,
- Support and resources are provided when floating or taking precepting responsibilities,
