An established firm based in New York with over 70 years in practice is seeking an Associate Attorney with 2+ years of civil litigation experience to join their team in a hybrid work arrangement . This Attorney will have experience with medical malpractice defense , ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations while representing hospitals, academic medical centers, and healthcare professionals in litigation and advisory matters.

Qualifications:

The candidate must have a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and maintain an active license in good standing with the New York State Bar.

The candidate must have a minimum of two years of civil litigation experience, with a strong preference for medical malpractice defense.

The candidate must demonstrate exceptional written and oral communication skills, strong research and analytical abilities, and proficiency in interpreting complex medical records.

The candidate must be highly organized, able to manage a substantial caseload, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

The attorney will independently manage a substantial caseload of medical malpractice defense cases from inception to resolution.

The attorney will draft pleadings, discovery responses, and motions, and conduct legal research. The attorney will prepare for and take or defend depositions of plaintiffs, experts, and witnesses.

The attorney will represent clients in court for hearings, conferences, and motions, and maintain frequent and professional communication with clients.

The attorney will collaborate with senior attorneys on complex legal projects, assist in developing litigation strategies, and participate in mediations and settlement conferences.
