Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care Unit

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a busy Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with oncology surgical patients, requiring an OH or compact RN license and at least 2 years' experience.

Job Details

- Work on a mixed acuity PCU/Med Surg unit specializing in oncology surgical care,

- Adult and geriatric patient population with diagnoses including breast, thyroid, melanoma, hepatobiliary, colorectal, and reconstructive surgeries,

- Special procedures include chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, oncologic emergencies, insulin and heparin drips,

- Staffing goal is 1:4, with a maximum ratio of 1:5,

- Self-scheduling requests are accepted but final schedules are balanced by staff,

- Both day (7:00-19:30) and night (19:00-7:30) 12-hour shifts are available,

- Variable weekend coverage based on unit needs,

- EPIC EMR is used and experience is required,

Job Requirements

- Active OH or compact RN license,

- Minimum of 2 years' recent PCU experience,

- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS,

- ONS Chemo certification preferred but not required,

- Experience caring for oncology surgical, hepatobiliary, and colorectal patients preferred,

Additional Information

- Orientation includes one week of Mon-Fri dayshift and a second week with a preceptor on unit,

- Focus on infection prevention protocols and patient fall reduction,

- Self-schedule requests are considered as part of the scheduling process,

- Heavy focus on teamwork with all permanent staff PCU-trained,

- First week orientation is structured to support traveler success,
