Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Business Operations Manager for a mission-driven, globally affiliated nonprofit organization . This is a hybrid, full-time role based in New York, NY , with onsite collaboration at least three days per week and flexibility during summer and holiday periods.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Business Operations Manager plays a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations, financial stewardship, and governance support of a growing nonprofit organization. This role partners closely with executive leadership, the Board of Directors, and external financial partners to maintain strong operational infrastructure and compliance. The ideal candidate enjoys wearing multiple hats, collaborating cross-functionally, and supporting an organization's mission through thoughtful operational leadership.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Oversee financial operations including budgeting, reporting, audit coordination, and compliance activities
* Partner with the CEO, Board of Directors, and Audit & Risk Committee on financial and governance matters
* Manage core operational functions including HR administration, IT vendors, insurance, contracts, and legal coordination
* Support organizational policies, internal controls, and process improvements to strengthen efficiency
* Prepare materials and documentation for board meetings and leadership review
* Collaborate with external partners supporting finance and accounting functions
QUALIFICATIONS:
* 5-7 years of strong financial and operational management experience, including budgeting and audits
* Familiarity working with nonprofit organizations, boards, or governance structures
* Comfort using tools such as QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Office 365, and related systems
* Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and discretion
* Collaborative, adaptable professional with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
This role offers a competitive salary range of $110,000-$130,000 , along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance, a retirement plan with employer match, commuter benefits, wellness reimbursement, generous PTO, and professional development opportunities.
