Litigation Attorney
Position Overview
The Litigation Attorney will be responsible for representing clients in civil litigation matters, preparing cases for trial, and providing legal counsel on a variety of issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation and trial preparation, with a proven track record in the courtroom.
Key Responsibilities
* Represent clients in civil litigation cases
* Prepare and file legal documents, including pleadings and motions
* Conduct discovery, including depositions and interrogatories
* Negotiate settlements and engage in alternative dispute resolution methods such as arbitration and mediation
* Provide legal counsel on contract law and regulatory compliance
* Manage case files and ensure adherence to case timelines
* Research and analyze case law and legal precedents
* Develop trial strategies and prepare for trial
* Attend court hearings and represent clients during trials
* Maintain client relationships and communicate case progress effectively
Qualifications
* Jurisdictional law degree (J.D.) from an accredited law school
* Active bar admission in the state of Texas
* Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience
* Strong courtroom experience and trial preparation skills
* Excellent legal writing and research skills
* In-depth knowledge of civil procedure and legal compliance
* Proficient in case management and discovery processes
* Strong negotiation and client representation skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Asbestos litigation experience is extremely valuable
