Departmental Overview The ideal candidate for our Surgical Unit thrives in a fast‑paced environment, has a strong willingness to learn, understands how to deliver safe and effective & compassionate clinical care alongside a team. Our unit has thirty‑two beds. We take care of patients with both surgical and nonsurgical conditions, caring for patients through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Our nurses and patient care techs collaborate with other healthcare professionals for the best possible treatment of our patients.
Compensation / Benefits
$13.21-$21.58/hr depending on previous work experience.
Evening differential $1.50/hr.
Night differential $1.75/hr.
Weekend differential $1.75/hr.

Job Summary
Provides basic patient care.
Assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment.
Takes and records vital sign (VS) data and relays to patient’s nurse.
Provides general nursing care and routine treatment/procedures.
Facilitates processing of patients.
Provides clerical receptionist support.
Provides coordinating support.
Performs additional duties related to the specific needs of the department.
Qualifications Education
High School diploma or equivalent GED.
Certification as a nursing assistant or 6 months of recent experience as a nursing assistant.
Experience
Six (6) months of recent experience as a nursing assistant.
Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant or one clinical semester of nursing school or successful completion of an acute care nurse aide course; or six (6) months previous experience in a healthcare position can be substituted for the experience.
(Above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of education and experience).
Licensure / Certification
Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re‑training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained through re‑training for the duration of employment.
Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.
Schedule 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
