Responsibilities
Ventilate, alter, repair, and style wigs.
Have working knowledge of hairstyles, including period, modern, and fantasy.
Adhere to all rules and regulations required by the Actor's Equity Association, including COVID‑19 additions.
Promote and maintain a safe work environment in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
Contribute to the overall success of the Production Department by performing additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Work under tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
Qualifications & Skills
Ability to ventilate and re‑front wigs, add or remove weft.
Knowledge of roller sets and hair styling techniques.
Knowledge of facial hair styling preferred.
Knowledge of classic marcel.
Ability to create wig styles over the top of wig cages.
Collaborate with the wig team and other departments.
Listen attentively, take instruction, and work with performers and staff in a positive and professional manner while on campus at all times.
Preferred
At least 1 year of professional work experience as a Wig Builder in a live theatrical environment or equivalent educational experience.
Cosmetology license (not required).
Additional Information
Housing is provided.
Contract Dates: February 23 – July 10, 2026.
Salary: $20 per hour plus overtime; open to negotiation based on experience.
2026 Mainstage shows include Les Miserables, Finding Nemo, and Grease.
