Responsibilities
Provide customers with fresh, made-in-store products such as salads, sandwiches, pizzas, and maintain department and food safety/sanitation standards.
Comply with H‑E‑B food safety and sanitation standards, including proper temperature control, sanitation of food prep areas, and equipment maintenance.
Assist in multiple food preparation areas and with catering orders as needed.
Perform internal customer service and assist customers as required.
Production / Food Service
Cuts, slices, dices, chops, and prepares food for recipe preparation per recipe specifications and SOPs.
Packages, labels, stocks, and rotates made‑in‑store products.
Completes tasks at assigned workstation and assists in other food prep areas.
Performs other duties as needed.
Food Safety / Sanitation
Complies with H‑E‑B food safety and sanitation standards.
Maintains temperature integrity of all ingredients, products, and equipment.
Ensures sanitation in food preparation areas.
Operates and maintains equipment properly.
Works as a team member to maintain a safe, clean, and productive operation.
Customer Service
Provides internal customer service.
Assists customers as needed.
Qualifications & Background
Minimum age 18 (mandatory).
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience in food preparation and equipment (preferred).
Related experience (preferred).
Culinary certification or equivalent combination of culinary training and work experience (preferred).
Culinary knowledge.
Understanding of nutritional values and ingredients.
Communication and interpersonal skills.
Reading and writing skills.
Ability to execute high‑volume production.
Availability for rotating shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
What You Need
Function in a fast‑paced, retail environment.
Work extended hours and/or rotating schedules.
Safely maneuver around moving mechanical parts.
Lift 55 lbs and manage 80 lbs with a team lift as needed.
Stand, walk, reach, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, climb stairs, pivot, twist, push/pull arms, and perform fine motor movements.
Be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, hot, cold, and ambient temperatures, and loud noise.
