Job Overview The Service Advisor is responsible for communicating with customers about their vehicle repair needs and relaying information to the Service Technicians. Their duties include greeting customers and helping them determine repairs and relevant costs, maintaining up-to-date knowledge about Boss Shops range of services and contacting customers to update them about their vehicle’s repair status.
Responsibilities
Greets customers promptly and provides friendly competent customer service.
Coordinates the service center’s scheduling and workflow.
Creates estimates and work orders, finalizes payments, follows all cash handling policies, orders parts and collects for all jobs.
Answers customer questions about service outcomes and consults with the technicians as needed.
Understands marketing and sales strategies to finalize all transactions.
Consults with technicians about needed repairs and communicates those needs with the customer.
Increases knowledge of products and services to understand industry needs.
Communicates customer needs to technicians and vice versa.
Maintains all customer facing items cleaned, stocked, and up to date.
Receives merchandise, stocks, and updates pricing for all showroom products.
Maintains a complete understanding of the Boss Shop Warranty process.
Assigns work to all technicians within the company guidelines.
Practices and adheres to all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for employees and customers.
Reports work in a timely manner when scheduled.
Assists with other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and/or Experience
Retail or guest service experience preferred.
Minimum Qualifications
Valid Driver’s license and insurable to drive.
Able to maintain working knowledge of parts inventory.
Complete Service Advisor New Team Member Training within the first 90 days of employment.
Work efficiently on the computer system.
Read, write and perform math skills.
Possess a positive, enthusiastic attitude.
Be flexible with the ability to adapt to change when required.
Demonstrate excellent communication skills.
Work a flexible schedule to meet business needs; may require weekends and evenings.
Have reliable transportation and phone.
Communicate in English (if applicable).
Deliver friendly, courteous, and prompt customer service.
Work cooperatively with other team members.
Physical Requirements The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. The role frequently requires standing, walking, using hands and fingers, handling, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and hearing; occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
